GMIT - Mechanical Engineering
GMIT - Mechanical Engineering
Why Study Mechanical Engineering at GMIT? You will learn how machines and other mechanical systems work and how they are designed and controlled. How the gear box, clutch and engine in a car operate, how medical devices are fabricated and designed. What are the key properties of the materials used in the manufacture of these components? What methods are used to fabricate and control these products. The workload is balanced between roughly 50% formal lectures and 50% laboratories and workshop practice. A typical week has anything from 27 to 30 hours of instruction. Tuition is given on the latest CAD packages and leading edge CNC turning and milling machines. Students learn how to work together in teams to accomplished specified goals and targets. Programme Modules Manufacturing Engineering 1, Computer Aided Design, Learning to Learn, Electrical Instrumentation, Engineering in Business, Mechanical Dissection, Engineering Sciences 1, Mathematics 1, Engineering Sciences 2, Mathematics 2, Control Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering 2, Mathematics 3, Mechanics and Properties of Materials, Statics & Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Mathematics 4, Mechanics and Dynamics of Machines, Thermodynamics, Machine Design, Heat Transfer , Automation & Control 1, Engineering Design 1, Project Management, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, Automation and Control 2, Engineering Design 2, Numerical Methods and Programming,Work Placement or Project. DEFCON 15: The Science of Social Engineering: NLP, Hypnosis and the science of persuasion
Speakers: Mike Murray Anton Chuvakin Ph.D. Social engineering has traditionally been more of an art than a science, we try different things, and if they work, we continue to use them over and over again. Some of the best social engineers have developed excellent technique even without understanding why what they're doing works. Mike & Anton are skilled communicators trained in NLP, hypnosis, FACS and other sciences of influence, and will present (and demonstrate) some of the cutting edge research on influence and persuasion. Pilot Officer Raja Jahanzaib shaheed - January 22, 2008 - Tragic Incident near GIKI
PAF s' News Section paffalcons.com A pilot was killed when his aircraft crashed in Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province, the air force said. The T-37 trainer jet caught fire before hitting the ground on the premises of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, located in the small village of Topi, some 100 kilometres from capital Islamabad. "The pilot died in the crash," said a spokesman for Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Wing Commander Tariq Mehmood. A mechanical malfunction appears to have caused the accident, he added. The Pilot Officer Jahanzaib was martyred and a gardener on the ground is also feared to have expired in the crash, the sources said. This was the first jet lost by the PAF this year. In 2007, six military jets crashed - five due to mechanical failures and one after hitting a bird. The T-37 is a training plane used by about 20 air forces around the world. Pakistan has acquired about 60 of the jets over a number of years, but due to attrition no more than 20 remain in service today.

Isha Foundation - Inner Engineering Video
"As we have physical science to create external well-being there is a whole inner dimension of science to create inner well being. I call it Inner Engineering." - SADHGURU Inner Engineering - the peak of wellbeing Inner Engineering is offered as an intensive program for personal growth. The program and its environment establish the possibility to explore the higher dimensions of life and offers tools to re-engineer one's self through the inner science of yoga. Once given the tools to rejuvenate, people can optimize all aspects of health, inner growth and success. For those seeking professional and personal excellence, this program offers keys for meaningful and fulfilling relationships at work, home, community, and most importantly, within one's self. Inner Engineering can be thought of as a synthesis of holistic sciences to help participants establish an inner foundation and vision for all dimensions of life and find the necessary balance between the challenges of a hectic career and the inner longing for peace and well being. The approach is a modern antidote to stress, and presents simple but powerful processes from yogic science to purify the system and increase health and inner well being. Program components include guided meditations and transmission of the sacred Shambhavi Maha Mudra. When practiced on a regular basis, these tools have the potential to enhance one's experience of life on many levels. Health * Optimize health and vitality * Reduce stress * Promote ...
